Staff Sergeant David R. Williams served with Detachment B-52, Project Delta, 5th Special Forces Group. He gave his life in service to his country while serving with one of the most elite and secretive units of the Vietnam War.

Two former members of Project Delta went on to become general officers, including a future Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Twenty became field-grade officers. But the foundation of the unit's success was built on the backs of men like SSG Williams, the non-commissioned officers who led from the front on every patrol.
