Project Delta was the first and most distinguished special reconnaissance unit of the Vietnam War. Small teams of U.S. Army Special Forces soldiers, alongside Vietnamese Special Forces, were sent deep behind enemy lines on missions the government would deny for over three decades.
Never numbering more than 100 Americans at any one time, Detachment B-52 became the most highly decorated unit of its size in the entire conflict. Their legacy laid the foundation for modern special operations forces, including the unit that bears their name: Delta Force.
