Sergeant First Class Paris D. Thompson served with Detachment B-52, Project Delta, 5th Special Forces Group. He gave his life in service to his country while serving with one of the most elite and secretive units of the Vietnam War.

Project Delta operated country-wide under the direction of MACV, conducting covert reconnaissance into enemy-held sanctuaries, collecting intelligence, directing air strikes on inaccessible targets, and executing the full range of unconventional warfare operations that made the unit legendary.
