Stand Down after Operation 2-70 (Calvary Glory) FOB Bunard

Narrative:
Between operations, we always had a "Stand Down". A "stand down" is a cessation of all combat operations, unless attacked.
From the time of arrival, at the compound in Nha Trang, the Delta Hilton (NCO club) opened and did not close for the first 72 hours. There was no training, no formations, no PT, and there never was a "lights out" policy. After that time, the club kept normal hours, we had regular formations, and had to start PT and training again, ie., breaking in new gear with road marches and climbing the 50 ft. rappelling tower every morning.
Those first 72 hrs were always a time of high drama, ie., carousing, drinking, live bands, good food, lurid behavior, etc. Some of the most memorable times in the Project happened during this period. The SGM and CO tended to close their eyes and ears, or just leave the compound.
